Samuel Eto’o has told Inter that he has no intention of returning to the Italian giants during the January transfer window.

The Cameroon international left the Meazza outfit for Anzhi Makhachkala in the summer, yet there have been rumours of a possible short-term loan switch back to San Siro in the New Year.

''I am enjoying myself at Anzhi Makhachkala and football is taking big steps here in Russia,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

''Inter was a splendid time in my career and the Nerazzurri will remain in my heart – there is no doubt about that. However, that is in the past now.”

The Beneamata sold the 30-year-old after they offered a reported €27m for his services, while handing the player himself a three-year deal worth around €20m.

“I am always reminded of my wages, but I want to reiterate that I didn't join Anzhi for money,” continued the former Barcelona man.

''I earned well at Inter and also at Barcelona and I had salaries that I could certainly not complain about. This new experience in my career is probably a great business deal, but it's also a very interesting one.

''I am happy with the idea of being at the centre of a project. I am going through a unique and fascinating adventure and I'm exploring a new frontier.''

Inter replaced Eto’o by bringing in Mauro Zarate from Lazio and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Forlan.
