“There were some good moves from the team, I was very happy for the goal Menez scored.

“El Shaarawy had a great chance to win the derby for us, but now we must only think of the next match.”

That is against Udinese and could see Riccardo Montolivo step up his recovery after several months out with a broken leg.

“Every match is difficult. We have to try to win and bring home the three points.

“Montolivo’s return is very important for us, he is our captain and we are pleased for his return to the field.”

The Ghana international also reflected on his own start to the season.

“I am quite satisfied, I have always looked to be ready for when the Coach has called me. Now we have to remain focus on the upcoming games until Christmas.”
