Agent Martin Schoots said Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen ‘was happy because he understood how much love he has around him’ after he collapsed mid-game on Saturday.

The Denmark playmaker collapsed mid-game and needed medical attention on the pitch and the midfielder is still in hospital for further examinations.

Denmark doctor Morten Boesen confirmed Eriksen ‘suffered cardiac arrest’ but is ‘awake and answers relevantly and clearly’.

The many messages of affection has moved the former Tottenham Hotspur star.

“He was happy because he understood how much love he has around him,” Schoots told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Messages has arrived from all over the world. And he was particularly impressed by those from the Inter world.

“Not only the teammates heard from in the chat, but also the fans. Christian doesn’t give up. He and his family wish to say thanks to everyone.

“Half of the world has contacted us, everyone is worried. Now he just has to rest, his wife and parents are with ihm.

“Even today, he will remain under observation, perhaps even Tuesday. But in any case, he wants to cheer on his teammates against Belgium.”
