Unai Emery is emerging as another potential candidate for the Milan bench next season, along with Luciano Spalletti or Ralf Rangnick in a dual role.

Stefano Pioli’s future seems to be up in the air, having taken over when Marco Giampaolo was sacked just a couple of months into the campaign.

While a deal for Rangnick to come in seems to be backed by multiple sources, including ex-Milan director Zvonimir Boban, it’s not yet clear what duties he will have.

Some suggest it’ll be just as a director of sport, while others maintain he’ll become a true rarity in Italian football, acting as both director and coach with transfer market carte blanche.

If he’s just a director, then a coach must be found, and Sky Sport Italia point towards Emery.

It’d be a reunion, as current Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis already hired Emery for Arsenal in the summer of 2018.

Former PSG, Valencia, Sevilla and Spartak Moscow boss Emery was fired by the Gunners in November 2019.

This is not entirely new interest, as Milan had also been linked with Emery back in 2016.

Another candidate is ex-Inter boss Spalletti, who was dismissed at the end of last season to make way for Antonio Conte.
