Milan are reportedly entering a “historic” two weeks as their Chinese takeover could be followed by Unai Emery’s appointment and Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, negotiations between Fininvest and the Chinese consortium have entered “the crucial phase”, and the next two weeks could “change Milan’s history”.

The newspaper adds the Chinese are ready to appoint a foreign Coach, with Emery considered the favourite and Manuel Pellegrini just behind him, while Silvio Berlusconi would opt to keep Cristian Brocchi at the helm.

However, any move for a foreign Coach has been given a deadline of mid-June as an appointment after that is deemed too “risky”, in reference to Everton stepping up their pursuit of the Sevilla boss sooner rather than later.

Regarding the issue of Ibrahimovic, the Chinese are willing to bring the striker back to San Siro as a statement of intent – but only on the condition that the Swede agrees a “considerably” lower salary to what he received at Paris Saint-Germain.
