Marc Bartra will reportedly join Fiorentina this summer – but only on a two-year loan as Barcelona are ready to extend the defender’s contract.

According to Sport, Bartra will extend his contract with Barca until 2020 as the centre-back sees himself at Camp Nou for the long haul.

However, he is also aware that he has failed to convince Luis Enrique of his worth in central defence to date, prompting him to pursue a move elsewhere.

As it stands, La Viola are the only team prepared to sign Bartra on the above conditions, with Villarreal and Borussia Dortmund opting out.

Despite his lack of game time last season, the 25-year-old is in Spain’s 23-man squad for Euro 2016.
