PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi reportedly threatened a member of Real Madrid staff after PSG’s Champions League elimination last night while Leonardo insisted that Karim Benzema had fouled Gigio Donnarumma.

The Ligue 1 giants were eliminated from the competition after an incredible 3-1 loss in Madrid last night. They seemed in control of the game until Gigio Donnarumma gave the ball away, passing it by the line while pressed by Karim Benzema. Vinicius Junior won the possession and assisted the France striker who scored the equalizer. He’d find the net twice more in the following 17 minutes.

Video: Donnarumma shows his best and worst against Real Madrid

PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino defended the Italian goalkeeper after the game, saying that Benzema had fouled him. According to Movistar reporter, Mónica Marchante, protests of Leonardo and PSG President Al-Khelaifi were even louder in the dressing room. She described the scenes as ’embarrassing.’

Al-Khelaifi was so furious that he went into the tunnel looking for the referee in his dressing room. He was seen hitting walls and shouting inside the tunnel but entered the wrong room and instead of referees, he came across Real Madrid pitch official Megía Dávila.

The latter was recording a video of the scene and Al-Khelaifi reportedly threatened him, saying: ‘I a going to kill you.’

Leonardo also looked very frustrated and forced Dávila to cancel the video. It was a very tense situation and even Real Madrid director Emilio Butragueño lost his cool amid protests and swear words of PSG director.

“There’s a clear foul by Benzema on Donnarumma,” Leonardo had told Canal Plus after the game. “That’s clear, it’s a mistake, but we need no excuses now, we need to find solutions as soon as possible.”

  1. Hahahahaaaaa Love it! I watched the game and apart from Verratti and Mbappe the whole PSG team were awful. PSG are a rudderless ship.

  2. Get used to it. Referees ALWAYS favor Real Madrid in the champions league. Its why the have a record number of trophies. One year, they got a very soft penalty against Juventus in the QF (Buffon normally a lovely guy went pyscho), loads of favorable decisions against Bayern Munich in the SF (it was beyond belief) and then Ramos injured Mo Salah in the final- intentionally. Ultimate European football cheats, but at the same time PSG played like idiots last night. Shoddy defending, and Messi didnt do much at all over 180 minutes

  3. Buffon a lovely guy? You remember a certain Sulley Muntari? If Buffon is such a gentleman where’s the fair play there? He served every bit of that “soft penalty”.
Only team that gets favoured in CL is Barcelona. I don’t even need to mention the matches.

  4. I’m not a fan of either team, but I thought it was a clear foul and was surprised it wasn’t called.

  5. Regardless of how much money the owners have.. Nobody can look at a few Ligue 1 wins after hundreds of millions of investment and look at that as a success. If I were PSG honestly I would sell the lot except Mbappe, invest in European talent, take the hit temporarily and build for the future because how much worse could the situation get?

  6. @DB Milan, couldn’t agree more mate. PSG sports washing Inc have been quite a litigious crowd as have Man city. A taste of their own medicine is entirely appropriate.

  7. @Chris2: Instead of rebuilding, I think there’s more chance that PSG will pair CR7 and Messi next season lol.

  8. It was a foul I thought, but Messi has shown that he isn’t the player all his fans thought he was. As soon as he left Barcelona he has been shown to be far from the genius everyone believed.

  9. Got to laugh! PSG think they can buy success, yet how many years has khelaifi been there without CL? Look at Chelsea now too, with their oligarch owner now sanctioned and the clubs hands tied. Haha is all I can say.

  10. Real Madrid have won 14 UCLs and 4 of them were stolen. If they win this year it will be 5 stolen. UEFA is a corrupt joke. We won’t mention the other incidents involving Ramos like injuring Salah, coming on to the touchline when he was red carded and suspended the previous round. Alonso from Bayern did the same thing weeks before and was suspended for an additional game but with Ramos UEFA did nothing and on it goes…

  11. The referees must be protected against any tendency to intimidation for the good of the game. If this sort of intimidation is allowed, referees will start listening to those with money and killing machines. The game is over PSG has lost, the score stands at 3-2, the referee’s word must forever remain final.
