“I’m not worried about not being considered by [Azzurri CT Antonio] Conte. I want to prove myself and do well here.

“A lot of Italian players in the national team play, or have played, in foreign Leagues.”

Monaco face the first leg of a Champions League play-off with Young Boys Bern next week, and the forward assures he’ll be ready.

“We have two very important matches, but since the first days we’ve worked hard, and with the ball. I’ve worked with the ball a lot, so I’m happy.

“We have two big games where we have to qualify for the Champions League, that’s our main objective at this early stage of the season.

“I arrived a little bit later [than the rest], I’m following a specific program. I’ll be available for Tuesday’s game, and I hope I can make my contribution.“We hope to play a good match.”
