“It will be a delicate match,” the Coach said of Sunday’s meeting with the Azzurri. “Even though Empoli come into it with two heavy defeats, they are still a team with clear ideas and they have certainly deserved more points up until now.
“By suffering against Napoli, we managed to collect an important point.
“In this game, we really need a win, but I assure you it will not be easy.
“We want to kick start ourselves and find success that has now been missing for too long.”
Di Francesco then expressed his belief that Sassuolo’s participation in the Europa League has affected their domestic form.
“Disappointment? Let’s not forget that this year, we have been in the Europa League for the first time, a competition we have honoured and given our best.”
