The Blucerchiati are six games unbeaten in all competitions, having convincingly beaten Cagliari in the Coppa Italia in midweek.

Speaking ahead of the meeting with the Granata, the Luigi Ferraris boss admitted his players face a tough challenge on Sunday afternoon.

“I expect a difficult game because Toro are a team who have changed their style,” Giampaolo told reporters. “They have quality players and one of the best attacks in the League.

“Also, I know that there is this rivalry between the fans.

“He [former Samp Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic] knows this atmosphere, he knows how much our fans can give. It’s the chemistry between the team and fans that has achieved results in the past.”

Giampaolo then added that for all Torino’s qualities, he would not have any Granata players in his team over his own.

“No, there isn’t a player because I always look at my own. I think Toro have a wealth of quality, the main striker is a prolific goalscorer.

“Valdifiori is a great playmaker, the full-backs don’t simply mark, they are fluid.”
