Real Madrid President Florentino Perez says Luka Modric will only join Inter for €750m, but it is reported that could change if the Croatian expresses a desire to leave.

The midfielder is currently still on holiday in Sardinia and is due to return to the Spanish capital over the weekend to report for pre-season training.

At that point, it is expected the 32-year-old will hold face-to-face talks over his future with Perez.

And respected journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims there is still a possibility Modric will tell the Bernabeu boss he wants to join the Nerazzurri.

Di Marzio's website states that Vlado Lemic and Guiseppe Riso, the same agents who brokered Inter’s recent signing of Sime Vrsaljko, are still in Milan and are acting as intermediaries between Modric and the San Siro club.

Perez made headlines around Europe when he publically put an eye-watering €750m price-tag on the Croatia captain’s head yesterday evening.

However, Di Marzio reports Inter are hoping to benefit from the fact Modric enjoys an excellent relationship with the Los Blancos chief.

In the event that the player expresses a desire to leave, the hope is that the duo could come to a gentleman’s agreement over his departure.

With Modric’s holiday set to end and the talks set to take place any time from Sunday, all will become clear in the coming days.
