Dzeko returned to training at Trigoria today, but he was not welcomed to join the group who prepare for the match against Hellas Verona on Sunday.

The report speaks of a clear and obvious signal from the coach, that the situation has not changed and strengthens the rumours of an early departure for the 34-year-old.

The former Manchester City forward has scored seven goals in 15 Serie A games for La Lupa this term, helping them to third in the table after 19 games.

The total breakdown happened after the Coppa Italia defeat to Spezia, as the striker reportedly confronted the coach over the sacking of team manager Gianluca Gomber.

Fonseca refused to answer Dzeko questions after the 4-3 win over Spezia in Serie A last weekend, when the player was not in the squad.
