Manchester United are reportedly targeting Roma forward Edin Dzeko, as they are not convinced about Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic.

The last month has strongly pointed Mandzukic in the direction of Manchester United, but now the Corriere dello Sport and ESPN claim the former Manchester City striker Dzeko is instead a new target at Old Trafford.

Mandzukic has been left out of the Juventus squad by Maurizio Sarri this season and the lack of minutes might make United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer concerned about his overall condition.

The difference between outcast Mandzukic and the Bosnian forward at the Olimpico, is a contract tying him to the capital until 2022.

Dzeko signed with Roma this summer and the 33-year-old has scored five times in 12 games under Paulo Fonseca this season.

Roma are currently on par with Atalanta on 22 points at fifth in Serie A and will face Brescia at home when they return from the international break this Sunday.
