Dzeko would bring valuable experience and a tough work-rate, with Tuttosport suggesting Ronaldo himself approved the choice.

The contract would not be that impressive for the Bosnia international, namely a two-year deal worth €5m per season plus bonuses.

The Gazzetta dello Sport maintains Dzeko must make his intentions clear before Roma will agree to a sale.

Once that happens, the Giallorossi can turn to his heir, Napoli centre-forward Milik.

The Poland international is available for circa €50m and brings many of the same characteristics as Dzeko, but is only 26 years old compared to the Bosnian’s 34.
