It’s believed Roma are paying €18m plus bonuses for the centre-forward.

He’ll find a crowd of Giallorossi fans ready to welcome him at the airport, as with two hours to go there were already 50 present in Terminal 1.

As the supporters grew to several hundred, police moved the flight to Terminal 5 out of concerns for public safety.

Dzeko is accompanied by his father, agent Irfan Redzepagic and mediator Silvano Martina.

The medical is already set for Friday, starting at the Policlinico Gemelli at 10.30 local time (09.30 UK, 08.30 GMT), then moving on to the Villa Stuart clinic.
