The Nerazzurri have been truly renewed over the summer and many believe they'll be a contender to look out for in the coming championship.

Palacio, at 33, still has one year with Inter and he intends to make the most of it.

“Last year wasn't good, my ankle really tormented me,” he told Inter Channel. “But now I feel much better.

“It feels a little bit bothersome but I can run and I'm happy with that.

“I hope to repeat myself after last year and to do even better, so the team will do well and we'll be able to play a good season.

“We have a lot of strong players and we want to compete for some important targets.”

Palacio was particularly happy about the offensive brand of football that Coach Roberto Mancini will be implementing.

“Mancini likes to show some good football. This is beneficial for us strikers. It helps us.

“The Coach told us when he came that he wanted to play an offensive football and that's what we're training for.

“I don't know how to play in every attacking role, but I do it because the Coach asks me to and I want to give my all.

“I don't know whether I play well or poorly, but I give it my best.”

The Argentine striker was then asked what Inter meant for him on a personal level.

“Inter represent something important in my football life. I experienced many good things over the last three years.

“I want to stay and try to win something. It's a great team that has to win.

“I'm a bit old now,” he joked. “But I still have one year in my contract and I want to stay here.

“I'm happy to be wearing these colours. All I'm missing is competing for important trophies, and that's something we can do.

“[Mauro] Icardi and [Stevan] Jovetic? It's better when we have many alternatives, so we can all lend a hand and let Inter win.

“Why is it worth coming to see Inter? Because many strong players have joined us and the team is developing.

“We can fight for the Scudetto or for the Champions League, but we need the help of our supporters.

“We hope to play a great championship. We work a lot every day so we can be ready when the championship kicks off, taking Inter to the top of the table right away.”
