Paulo Dybala is continuing to work hard on his recovery at Trigoria and Roma are hopeful that he could make his return against Empoli.

The 29-year-old Argentine star, who scored 18 goals and provided eight assists in his debut season in the Italian capital, has only featured once in the Giallorossi’s opening three matches of the 2023-24 campaign.

Dybala, suffering from a muscle issue, decided not to join the Argentina squad for this international break, instead remaining with Roma to work on his recovery.

As highlighted by Corriere dello Sport via TMW, Dybala has started to work towards a full return to squad training in Trigoria, carrying out part of the recent session with his teammates before splitting off to carry out individual exercises.

The 29-year-old wants to reach a strong level of fitness before Roma’s first game back after the break, when they’ll face Empoli on September 17.

Dybala’s return will give a key boost to Roma, who have only managed a single disappointing point in their first three outings of the new Serie A season.
