Paulo Dybala said he thought he would be at Juventus for ‘many more years’ ahead of his final home match with the club.

The Argentina forward, nicknamed La Joya, will leave the Bianconeri after seven seasons with the club when his contract expires at the end of the campaign.

His next destination his not yet known but,  on Instagram as well as in a series of posts on Twitter, the thanked the club and the fans for their support.

“It is difficult to find the right words to say bye to you,” Dybala wrote. “There are so many years and so many emotions all together.

“I thought we would have stayed together a few more years but destiny has led us down different paths.

“I will never forget everything you gave me; every match, every goal. I have grown up, learnt with you. I have lived a dream.

“It has been seven magical years with 12 trophies and 115 goals that no one can ever take away. Ever. Thank you for supporting me during the difficult moments.

“Thank you to those who have been with me these years: from the first to the last, from fans to the those within the club, everyone, managers and team-mates, staff and directors.

“Wearing this important shirt alongside the captain’s armband has been one of the proudest moments of my life, which I one day hope to show my children and grandchildren.

“Tomorrow will be my last match with this shirt, it’s difficult to imagine but it will be our last goodbye. It won’t be easy but will step onto the pitch with a smile and my head held high, knowing I gave everything for you.”

Dybala joined the club from Palermo in 2015 and was a member of five Serie A-winning sides.

The Argentina international also won the Coppa Italia on four occasions and he won the Serie A MVP award in 2019-20.

Dybala helped Juve reach the 2016-17 Champions League final, scoring twice a stunning 3-0 win over Barcelona the quarter-final first leg.

One of the criticisms of Dybala is his injury record. He has made 291 appearances in his seven seasons with the club.

  1. What a joke… How about the part where you tried to play the club for a fool and hold out signing a renewal?? Stop trying to convince us you loved the shirt as much as you say. Good luck in Milano…

  2. All this means nothing and I bet he will even kiss the Inter badge if he does cross into the darkness. Personally I liked him when he first came. Injuries and not showing up when it counts does not make him a legend.

@Kanwar I was also thinking the same. That is the mods here at this place, often having a double standard.

  3. Hes a constant troll with no real interest in the game.

Its a real shame to lose Dybala. He should of got another 3 years. He was probably juves best player this year. Juve management really have no clue when you look at the dead wood they’ve kept hold of. Rabiot Arthur Morata SandroRamsey Locatelli etc all need to go

  4. What a hypocrite. If you respect Juve, you’d never even think of negotiating with them. Your love does not cost 15M per season, or neither 6M. I’ll donate my Dybala shirt, not worth keeping it as a collection item

  5. Dybala is Juventus best player when he’s healthy. His injury record is the fault of Juve incompetent training staff . It’s a shame that he’s leaving.

  6. @Bianconero & @Al
So true, nice to read normal functioning Juve fans instead if the ramblings of types like e.g. Juventino & Ros.
Being a Juve fan doesn’t mean fan of the management, that skips Dybala out it means supporting the club (again not necesarily the management) & players, who love the club.
If it was not for the current management, who threw a ton of cash at the failure Ronaldo, Dybala would probably still be a Juve player next year.
True Juve fans can see through the managements manipualtion & appriciate that at heart, Dybala is a Juventino.

  7. Don’t know if that’s true, JuveFella. Dybala declined when Higuain arrived, too. If he’s not the main focus, he becomes a ghost. Really hoping to see more of the player who owned Barca but those moments were too spread out. Agree about the management though…totally clueless.

  8. Phd Joya master of fast injury i personally thank you for all the happy moments, great performances, great goals. You are the best, but unfortunately your out a lot.

Zidane was the best, but his last period with juve was full of anger and red cards. It was time he leave.

    Good luck

  9. To start off dybala still managed on average 41 games per season despite his injuries if the club had looked after him better he may have played more games! I think juve fans forget how influential he had been in many games! Even the top players have off days and he was still a great player for juve you’ve only got to go back to how the management treated Del piero after 19 seasons at the club was disgraceful
