Seydou Doumbia’s agent refuses to discuss the Roma striker’s future, but says his client’s form is improving.

The Ivorian arrived in the Eternal City in the January transfer window, but initially struggled to make an impact.

However, after two goals in his last two games, the player’s representative believes the forward is getting back to his best.

“He’s pleased with his latest performances, and wants to do well for the team,” Jean Bernard Beytrison told LaRoma24.

However, after two goals in his last two games, the player’s representative believes the forward is getting back to his best.

“He’s pleased with his latest performances, and wants to do well for the team,” Jean Bernard Beytrison told LaRoma24.

“We never had any doubts, he knows exactly what he can do. Unfortunately, he finished playing [for CSKA Moscow] in the Russian League in early December.

“After that he had the African Nations Cup, and that’s no exactly easy, as you’re playing at a major tournament and expending a lot of energy.

“You must remember that Doumbia had not properly trained for at least two months, so obviously he wasn’t in top condition.

“He’s improving, he’s getting better physically and that’s shown by the goals he’s scored.

“The life of a footballer is difficult, especially in Italy. In Serie A you always have to do well, players must always give their best and strikers must score a lot of goals.

“The future? Now is not the time to talk about these things, he’s only been in Rome for two or three months.

“He wants to play, and he’s demonstrated that it’s easier to score when you’re on the pitch. I’m sure that he won’t have any more absences.

“He can score in Milan next week too and help the club get into the Champions League.”
