Gianluigi Donnarumma says he is ‘proud’ to captain Milan and that they will ‘fight to the death’ to finish fifth this season.
Milan extended their unbeaten run since the restart last night, drawing 1-1 with Atalanta, and Donnarumma reflected on the result with mixed feelings.
“We knew we’d be facing a great team,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“We wanted to win at all costs, but it went well. Now we’re more compact, we all know what to do and we’re preparing well for the games.

“We did a great job, although it’s a shame about the point.”
The goalkeeper skippered his side in the absence of Alessio Romagnoli, who is injured.
“I’m sorry for Romagnoli, who’s a great friend and a great captain.
“I hope he can return soon, but wearing this armband makes me proud.”
Donnarumma also saved a penalty, keeping the Rossoneri within one point of fifth-placed Roma, although they have a game in hand.
“Luckily I saved it. Our objective is to finish fifth: we’ll fight to the death, beyond Roma’s result tomorrow.
“Let’s wait and see: we have two more Finals and we’ll have to win both of them to finish fifth.”
