Roma goalkeeper Alexander Doni's talks for a move to Liverpool “are still going,” confirmed his agent.

The two clubs agreed a fee several weeks ago, but he rejected the transfer due to the personal terms.

“I only received one official proposal from Liverpool, but the conditions were unacceptable. I was asked to reduce my wages by 60 per cent,” Doni said this week.

The Brazilian currently earns €4.3m per season, around £3m, which is the main reason Roma want him off their books this summer.

“Talks for the Liverpool option are still going,” insisted agent Ovidio Colucci late Friday night.

“In the middle of next week we'll know more, after I've met the Roma directors.”
