Multiple sources in Italy claim a deal has been struck by Milan for VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Aster Vranckx.

Sky Sport Italia, Tuttomercatoweb and others state it will cost €2m for the one-season loan, with an option to buy for a further €12m at the end of the season.

As part of the agreement, Wolfsburg will also be owed a 15 per cent cut of any future sale.

The option to buy can become an obligation after the Belgian has made 20 appearances with the Rossoneri squad.

The 19-year-old, who will turn 20 in October, is expected to sign a five-year contract with wages worth €1.5m per season.

Vranckx is on his way to Italy, where he will undergo a medical on Thursday and try to complete the move before the transfer deadline.

The deadline in Italy is at 19.00 UK time (18.00 GMT).

Vranckx has three caps for Belgium at Under-21 level and joins his fellow countrymen Charles De Ketelaere and Alexis Saelemaekers at San Siro.

  1. Been crying for that RW for 3 seasons now – hope we can pull of a miracle before deadline day. To much focus on our left attack – if they are stopped or having a bad game then Milan seem stuck without any ideas. Lucky we have CDK for the middle now as well – stick Diaz on RW – Alexis to help in midfield cos he does not stop running – but crossing is really not his strongpoint. Maybe would do well to convert him in CM

  2. Not as much as a CM though. Can’t see a winger happening at this stage.

Anyway, I came here for a play on words involving his name so, Vranckx for the memories.

  3. At least we have a 3/4 for now and the future. Maybe a RW can come in the winter or the next mercato….
