Mady Camara has officially joined Roma on loan from Olympiacos with an option to buy. ‘It is a big opportunity for me.’

The 25-year-old Guinea international passed his medical and signed the contract after sitting in the stands of the Stadio Olimpico for last night’s 3-0 Serie A win over Monza.

It is reported the loan will cost €1.5m with an option to buy for a further €11.5m, leaving Olympiacos a cut of the future sell-on fee.

“I am really pleased to be here, joining Roma is a big opportunity for me,” Camara told the official club website.

“It is going to be a busy season, in both the league and the cups, but I am here to make my contribution and help the side in every competition that we play in.

“It was magnificent to experience the Olimpico atmosphere and see all the fans; I cannot wait to play in front of them.”

Director Tiago Pinto assured that Camara brings characteristics, both technical and physical, that Jose Mourinho and the club had been looking for.

Camara will wear the Number 20 jersey and was brought in after a serious injury to Gini Wijnaldum.

  1. He is quite talented. Strong, can tackle and knows how to evade his man. This is shaping up to be a wonderful season
