Mattia Caldara is going back to Atalanta, on loan with €15m option to buy and sale percentage, just 18 months after Milan paid €35m to Juventus.
Multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia, La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sportitalia, all agree on the same details and that the deal is done.
The 25-year-old defender is expected to undergo a medical with Atalanta tomorrow.
It’ll be an 18-month loan for free with option to buy for €15m in June 2021.

Milan won’t have a counter-option, but should be rewarded with a percentage of any future transfer.
Caldara comes full circle, because the Bergamo native started his career with his hometown club Atalanta and was sold to Juventus in January 2017 for €19m.
He remained with the Orobici on loan until June 2018, when Juve then sold him to Milan in August that year for €35m.
Caldara has been extremely unlucky during his Rossoneri spell, suffering two major injuries when he lacerated his Achilles tendon in October 2018 and ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in May 2019.
The Italy international made just two competitive appearances in a Milan jersey, the Europa League against Dudelange in September 2018 and the Coppa Italia semi-final with Lazio in April 2019.
The figures of the deal mean Caldara returns to Atalanta for less than half the price Milan paid 18 months ago.
It also allows La Dea to buy him back for €4m less than they sold him to Juve.
