“The referee has nothing to do with it,” Donadoni told reporters following the match. “I won’t use it as a means of protest or in order to get something in our favour next time.

“We were naïve, we were the masters of our own downfall. It is a shame because even with ten against eleven we played a good match.
“We were not very alert in the build up to the goal. This match should make us reflect.”
Bologna have ten points from seven Serie A matches as they head into the international break.
