Roberto Donadoni admits “it would be satisfying” to Coach Milan but “it’s not an objective”.

The Bologna Coach was a Rossoneri legend as a player, and was linked with the job this summer before Vincenzo Montella was appointed.

“Coaching Milan is not an objective,” Donadoni told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“It would be satisfying for me, but it’s not the only thing that would be. Anyway, at the moment the aim would be more outside of Italy than inside, notwithstanding the fact that Bologna is the priority.

“There are important steps being taken here, such as building a training ground, which is an indication of the seriousness of [owner Joey] Saputo’s plans.

“It’s an overused word in Italian football, but there really is a project here.”

Donadoni was then asked whether it’s true he rejected a move abroad because he couldn’t take his staff with him.

“Yes, and I don’t see anything strange about it. A Coach is where he is partly because of the people working with him.

“My staff gives me certainty and security, I’m fully with them. I wouldn’t like to earn money by excluding them, because earning money like that isn’t my priority.

“I don’t want to appear unsympathetic, but I don’t need it and that allows me to pick and choose.”
