Former Italy boss Roberto Donadoni is the new favourite to succeed Franco Colomba on the Parma bench.

Although the latter has yet to be officially sacked, it is believed that his time at the Stadio Tardini has come to an end.

Gigi Del Neri was seen as the front-runner to land the job following the Gialloblu’s 5-0 loss at Inter on Saturday.

However, former Milan and Azzurri winger Donadoni is in talks with Parma this afternoon after Del Neri is understood to have turned down the opportunity.

Donadoni, who was sacked by Cagliari in pre-season, could sign a deal with Parma until June 2013 if talks prove positive.

Parma are 15th in the table – seven points clear of the relegation zone.
