Alessio Dionisi ‘doesn’t know’ if Domenico Berardi will be a Sassuolo player after the international break and explains how he will deal with Ciccio Caputo, who wasn’t happy about being subbed off.

Sassuolo have four points in the table after a 0-0 draw against Sampdoria at the Mapei Stadium.

“We deserved more, but I am satisfied,” Dionisi told DAZN.

“We have improved in the performance, but not with the result. We tried to score in any way, we wanted to do well in front of our fans who supported us till the very end.”

Ciccio Caputo was subbed off in the second half but didn’t take the substitution well.

“I am not going to say anything to him,” Dionisi revealed.

“I make my decisions before and during games. He had helped us win the previous match, but this time I tried to throw Scamacca in to make the most of the entire team.”

Dionisi also discussed the future of Domenico Berardi, who has been linked with a move to Fiorentina.

“I don’t know if Berardi will be here after the break. I know what we told each other and I am looking forward to the end of the transfer window, so I’ll know the team at my disposal. These choices are up to the club.”
