Italy are gearing up for their first Euro 2024 qualifiers against England and Malta, and Federico Dimarco may not join them after being forced off in Inter’s loss to Juventus.

The 25-year-old Italian full back has been a key figure in Simone Inzaghi’s squad this season, scoring four goals and providing five assists across 34 appearances, and was called up by Roberto Mancini for this international break.

Dimarco broke into the Azzurri squad in June of last year and appeared in the team’s last eight consecutive outings, where he scored against Hungary and provided an assist against Germany in the Nations League.

As highlighted by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Dimarco was forced off in the 63rd minute of Inter’s 1-0 loss to Juventus on Sunday night, suffering from an issue with his abs muscles.

Bianconeri star Federico Chiesa could also be forced to withdraw, having come off in the 83rd minute with a concerning limp.
