Milan confirm goalkeeper Diego Lopez has a hamstring injury that rules him out for at least two weeks, and they also update on Alex.

The 32-year-old pulled up in unsuccessfully attempting to reach Mattia De Sciglio’s goalbound back-pass during the closing stages of yesterday’s eventual 5-4 win at Parma.

Whilst it was suspected at the time, tests carried out today have now confirmed that the summer signing from Real Madrid has done enough damage to his right hamstring to rule him out for a while.

“The goalkeeper suffered a right hamstring injury,” Milan have communicated in a statement released today.

“He will be re-evaluated with tests to be carried out in a couple of weeks.”

The Rossoneri have also updated, in the same statement, on defender Alex’s condition.

“The defender, meanwhile, is suffering with an edema to his right adductor. In the coming days there will be further clinical evaluations to determine the prognosis.”

Lopez’s issue rules him out of next week’s top-of-the-table clash with Juventus, and Milan’s Week 4 and most likely Week 5 commitments to come.
