Bologna striker Marco Di Vaio could be set for a sensational return to former club Juventus, according to Tuttosport.

The Old Lady is looking to boost her attacking options in the January transfer window, but Beppe Marotta's top transfer targets Maxi Lopez and Alessandro Matri might not be available until the summer.

Tuttosport understands the Juventus general manager is now thinking about making an inquiry about Di Vaio, who is disgruntled at Bologna on account of the ownership dispute at the club, which resulted in the players not receiving their wages.

Marotta would apparently be prepared to bring Di Vaio back to Turin on a six-month loan deal.

The 34-year-old spent two seasons with Juventus at the beginning of the decade, scoring 25 goals in 72 appearances in Serie A and the Champions League.

It's thought that Albin Ekdal's presence on loan at Bologna from Juventus could be used as a bargaining chip in negotiations for Di Vaio.
