Marotta would apparently be prepared to bring Di Vaio back to Turin on a six-month loan deal.
The 34-year-old spent two seasons with Juventus at the beginning of the decade, scoring 25 goals in 72 appearances in Serie A and the Champions League.
It's thought that Albin Ekdal's presence on loan at Bologna from Juventus could be used as a bargaining chip in negotiations for Di Vaio.
