Former Udinese and Italy star Antonio Di Natale believes Ciro Immobile is a “very good player” but would be better utilised as a second striker.

Immobile finished as Serie A’s Capocannoniere in the 2013-14 season, prompting his future to seemingly lie as a No 9, but fellow attacker Di Natale claims the 26-year-old is more useful when acting as a foil for a strike partner.

“Immobile’s a very good player. I’ve known him a long time, but I don’t see him as a main striker. He’s better as a second striker,” he told Incontro Olympia.

“He gets very involved and attacks the space. If I was Coach, I’d play him on the pitch with another player by his side.

“Keita’s very good, too. I give him a 10 for his quality. Now he must convince [people] of his potential and decide to get serious because there are so many components to become a champion, but it only depends on him and those around him.

“I was never really close to Lazio, although there was an informal chat at the time of Rocchi’s transfer.”
