“Some important players have returned from injury since the last match against SPAL, and that vitally important to us,” the 55-year-old tactician said in his pre-match Press conference.

“We will travel to Milan intending to do our best. We must play to the levels we know we can, and we must play with dignity.

“Clearly, Inter are a stronger team, but we have always performed well against the big clubs. We will do everything to try and bring home some points."

Chievo legend Pellissier, who scored 139 times in 512 appearances for the Gialloblu, announced his retirement at the end of the season at the age of 40.

“I’m considering starting him. If he doesn’t play here, then he will definitely play against Sampdoria the following week,” confirmed Di Carlo.

“I tried to convince to play another year with us, but I didn’t succeed. I understand how he feels, I played until I was 37.

“I’m sure he’ll do well no matter what role he takes, I’m lucky I got to work with a great player like him.

“I would put him on the same level as Francesco Totti in the sense that he is a standard bearer for the club, he embodies everything that is Chievo.

“I proud that I was his Coach when he played for the national team.”

The striker only played once for the Azzurri, scoring in a 3-0 friendly win over Northern Ireland in 2009.
