According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan star Rafael Leao will have a new €170m clause in his contract with the Rossoneri, but it will only be valid in July.

The Portuguese striker has agreed to sign a new deal with the Rossoneri, extending his stay at San Siro until 2028. The Diavoli should have confirmed the striker’s contract extension today, but the official announcement has been postponed by a few days.

There are no doubts, however, that Leao will sign a new deal with the club.

According to Friday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper (page 11), Leao will have a €170m clause in his new contract with the Serie A giants, although it could raise to €175m. It will only be valid in July. Leao’s previous release clause was worth €150m.

The 23-year-old will receive a substantial pay rise, from €1.5m per season to €7m, becoming the highest earner at Milanello.
