The agent of Milan’s Mattia Destro hints that the club are ‘too modest’ for his client’s ambitions.

The striker joined the Rossoneri on loan from Roma in January, with a redemption clause set at €16m.

It seems increasingly unlikely that the Diavolo will be willing to pay that fee, and Renzo Contratto reveals the Italian international could have joined Wolfsburg in the summer.

The striker joined the Rossoneri on loan from Roma in January, with a redemption clause set at €16m.

It seems increasingly unlikely that the Diavolo will be willing to pay that fee, and Renzo Contratto reveals the Italian international could have joined Wolfsburg in the summer.

“If it had been Bayern Munich in the summer instead of Wolfsburg, I’d have taken him there on a bike,” the agent told Tele Radio Stereo.

“Wolfsburg had a good economic structure, but he didn’t go to Germany because at that time Roma offered a more important challenge, fighting for the League and competing in the Champions League.

“He’s now at Milan in too modest an environment, perhaps the most modest in the last 30 years. If Milan don’t exercise the redemption he’ll return to Roma.”

The 24-year-old has scored twice in 10 Serie A appearanes for the Rossoneri.
