There had to be some changes in the line-up, as Theo Hernandez pulled out yesterday with a muscular problem.
As Alessandro Florenzi and Fode Ballo-Toure are also injured, the nod has been given to USMNT player Dest.
Speaking to DAZN before kick-off at the Stadio Olimpico, Dest was asked if he had sought out Theo Hernandez for advice on playing at left-back with Rafael Leao.
“He didn’t give me advice, we didn’t really talk about it. I think I know what to do, I can play both sides. I think I’m good.”
Traditionally, Dest plays as a right-back, but the 22-year-old can work on the left if needed, and that is the situation this evening with Davide Calabria on the other flank.
Dest has made only 13 appearances for the Rossoneri this season, only playing at left-back in the 2-2 draw with Lecce, when he replaced Theo Hernandez at half-time.
