There were concerns for Napoli after Diego Demme had to be carried off with a knee injury during today’s friendly.
The test match against Serie C side Pro Vercelli was only 15 minutes in when Demme crumpled to the ground following a rough tackle.
The extent of the challenge infuriated Demme’s teammates, most notably Kalidou Koulibaly, sparking a flashpoint at the Dimaro training camp.
After several minutes of treatment, Demme was eventually carried off the field by two members of the Napoli medical staff.
It’s reported the issue was with his right knee and will require further tests to see if it is just a sprain or worse.
Napoli were already without Eljif Elmas and Gennaro Tutino due to injury, while Kostas Manolas was only on the bench.
