Fiorentina patron Andrea Della Valle called the 1-1 draw with Napoli “the most beautiful game of the season.”

It was a thriller with numerous chances for both sides in a head-to-head battle between third and second.

“Today we saw a spectacular first half from our team, perhaps the most beautiful game of the season,” Della Valle told reporters at the Stadio Franchi.

“At half-time we could’ve been 3-0 up, but a draw is acceptable against a great Napoli side. We were coming off a week that was not easy, including an ugly Europa League defeat.

“I am proud of these lads for putting a difficult moment behind them. Now we are third on level points with Roma, but still need to look over our shoulders at the Milan clubs.

“The lads are highly motivated and every day the Coach gives them more to think about. We are disappointed at the Europa League exit, but now can fully concentrate on Serie A.”
