Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero feels Inter have reached ‘maturity in everything’ while the Bianconeri need ‘something more’ in attack to beat direct opponents.

Juventus suffered a 1-0 loss against Inter at San Siro on Sunday night and saw the Nerazzurri move four points clear at the top of the Serie A table with a game in hand.

The Bianconeri only produced one shot on target at the Stadio Meazza last night and Del Piero feels this was the biggest difference between Massimiliano Allegri and Simone Inzaghi’s teams.

“We saw the difference between a team that has reached maturity in everything,” the Bianconeri legend told Sky Sport Italia.

“Playing style, self-esteem, a team that knows when to attack and when to defend. Inter are very united. On the other hand, Juventus must score goals when they have a chance. They must be super clinical if they want to win games like this.

“Juventus will do very well in other sorts of games because they are strong physically, because they stay well on the pitch and because they defend well. However, something more is needed in games against direct rivals, and today, Inter showed it.”

Juventus boss Allegri said after the game that his team has not been built to win the Scudetto this season, while the Nerazzurri project started many years ago with Antonio Conte, so Inter are the clear title favourites this season.

Juventus earned just one point in the last two games and their next Serie A meeting is with Udinese at the Allianz Stadium on Monday, February 12. Juventus sit second in the table with a 17-point lead over 5th-placed Bologna.
