Juventus may have secured all three points from their match with Frosinone, but coach Massimiliano Allegri failed to convince the Italian newspapers.

The Bianconeri secured an early lead in their Sunday afternoon clash with the Giallazzurri, but first-half goals from Walid Cheddira and Marco Brescianini saw the Old Lady fall 2-1 down. Vlahovic netted his second of the day to draw the home side level, but then things fell quiet.

Juventus looked at real risk of dropping points to Frosinone until the 95th minute, when Daniele Rugani managed to find a late winner to steal all three points for the hosts, finally returning them to winning ways after a poor run.

La Gazzetta dello Sport were unimpressed with Allegri and Juventus’ work against Frosinone, writing: “Sigh of relief, after a month without wins, and having exceeded the mark of 1000 career points in Serie A.

“But otherwise, it cannot be said that Juve are healed, actually. Trying 4-3-3 during the week but still using 3-5-2.”

Tuttosport were even less satisfied with the match, commenting: “The flash goal gives the illusion that the match could slide downhill, but instead even Frosinone scared the Bianconeri.

“Rather than resetting, a deep reflection is needed, the first half was a nightmare, the win in the 95th minute could be the turning point.”

Corriere dello Sport were slightly more forgiving of the Italian coach and his squad, saying: “A heavy victory in terms of method, ranking and timing. A liberation, Max thus surpasses the 1000-point mark. The momentum at the end is convincing.”

Allegri ratings in the Italian newspapers
