“Inter, as Luciano Spalletti said, start this season aiming to win the Scudetto. They reinforced a great deal and are in my view on the same level as Juventus,” De Zerbi declared in his Press conference.

“We know how good our opponents are, but will nonetheless go out there to play our game. I think it’s usually better to face the big clubs early, as they are still getting settled, but Inter seem to be well-drilled and so it doesn’t apply to them.
“We’re in good shape too, we have strong players who are hungry. We need the right balance of humility and confidence to play the game within our capabilities.”
Sassuolo were very active on the transfer market, signing Kevin-Prince Boateng, Manuel Locatelli and even Barcelona defender Marlon.
“I am very happy with the transfer strategy, as we brought in players who are functional to the project. Marlon’s international transfer hasn’t come in yet, while Locatelli has only been with us for a few days, so might not be ready to play.”
It would be intriguing for Jens Odgaard to play, as the Inter youth product was snapped up by Sassuolo for €5m this summer, although the Nerazzurri retain a buy-back option for €10m.
