“Starting the campaign with a local derby is great motivation and very exciting,” said SuperPippo in his Press conference.

“SPAL are a strong side who have had the same Coach, Leonardo Semplici, for several years, so are well-drilled. We are very determined, though, and we want to win, so there are no excuses.”

Godfred Donsah and Mattia Destro are out injured, while defender Danilo is fresh from his Udinese transfer.

“Choosing between many players is certainly an advantage for a Coach. I want one thing from my players: to fight for every ball. I live football very intensely even now and at times I still want to run out there and play with the team.”

Bologna squad for SPAL: Da Costa, Santurro, Skorupski; Calabresi, Corbo, Danilo, De Maio, Dijks, Gonzalez, Helander, Mattiello, Mbaye, Paz; Dzemaili, Nagy, Poli, Pulgar, Svanberg, Valencia; Falcinelli, Krejci, Okwonkwo, Orsolini, Palacio, Santander
