Inter defender Stefan de Vrij has claimed Christian Eriksen will ‘become decisive’ at San Siro: “He’s getting used to the way we play and is learning the language.”

The Dane arrived from Tottenham Hotspur in January and struggled to make an immediate impact for Antonio Conte’s side, who currently sit third in Serie A ahead of the resumption.

But the playmaker, who scored from a direct corner against Napoli in the Coppa Italia, has reportedly convinced during training and could claim a starting position going forward.

The Dutch defender De Vrij has claimed the Denmark international has the potential to become one of the protagonists at the Nerazzurri.

“He can become decisive, and I think he will,” De Vrij told DAZN. “He’s getting used to the way we play and has started to learn the language.

“We see all his qualities in training. He’s very good and we will soon see it on the pitch too.”

Inter prepare to face Sampdoria on Sunday, having to recover the game in hand and could cut the gap up to league leaders Juventus to six points with a win.
