Napoli have allegedly offered Serbia international Nikola Maksimovic a new deal until June 2024.

Journalist Nicolò Schira reports that the Partenopei sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli sat down with agent Fali Ramadani to discuss the future of his client.

The centre-back’s current deal expires in June 2021 and reports have long claimed the Serbian will get a new deal with the Azzurri.

Schira writes that he has been offered a new four-year contract at the San Paolo and the 28-year-old has shown his true potential since Gennaro Gattuso replaced Carlo Ancelotti in December.

Maksimovic helped Napoli win the Coppa Italia, starring in both games when the Partenopei went through on aggregate against Inter in the semi-finals and played the full 90 minutes against Juventus on Wednesday.

The defender, capped 24 times by Serbia, has only played 12 games in Serie A this term, having missed out on seven fixtures due to suspensions and injuries.
