Roma goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis has been quickly won over by new boss Rudi Garcia.

The Frenchman joined the Giallorossi this summer after the club’s appointments of Luis Enrique and Zdenek Zeman didn’t work out.

“Garcia has been the most pleasant surprise,” the signing from Napoli told TRT Sport in an interview.

“He’s a good and serious Coach, one who pays attention to details. He’s also aware of how important communication is in this business.

“He has endeavoured to learn the Italian language in a very short space of time and that fact is helping him as well.”

Roma have won both of their Serie A games so far with the 49-year-old former Lille Coach in charge of the side.

De Sanctis’ praise for the tactician comes just a day after sporting director Walter Sabatini complimented Garcia.

“I followed him with curiosity after he won the French title with a team of kids,” Sabatini told Canal Plus.

“I invited him to a meeting in Milan this summer and he cut short his holiday to come and see me. He immediately underlined great enthusiasm.

“I was convinced by him instantly and I follow my instinct. By the time he left our meeting, I had already chosen him.”
