The Italian international was again linked with Real last week, but Bronzetti – who deals with the Italian market for the Spanish giants – insists a switch is not on the horizon.

"There is absolutely no truth in the De Rossi to Real Madrid stories," the representative told Mediaset Premium.

"He is an excellent midfielder, but Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid already have valid players in that role such as Gago and Xabi Alonso."

The 27-year-old was brought up through the Giallorossi youth system and is seen as the heir to Francesco Totti in the capital given his Roman roots.

De Rossi, who was omitted from Italy's last two internationals for breaking Cesare Prandelli's code of ethics, is currently contracted to Roma until 2012.
