Antonio Cassano freely admits that the red card he received in Saturday's Milan derby was another example of his naivety.

The Italy international playmaker came off the bench, scored a penalty and was then sent off for a second bookable offence.

"It's another ingenuity that I have committed and I will pay for it," Cassano said. "I have committed many ingenuities in my career and I hope to commit fewer.

"Silvio Berlusconi said that I would be decisive in the derby. I can say that the President is someone who I respect a lot.

"He has always reserved great compliments for Cassano the footballer and also Cassano the man and for this reason I would like to thank him again with all my heart.

"I also have a great relationship with the fans: when I was warming up they sang my name and as soon as I came on there was a big roar."

Looking ahead to the final run-in, Cassano said: "Zlatan Ibrahimovic's return is important. He is as fundamental for us as Alex Pato.

"Now we have to think about getting maximum points against Fiorentina."
