Roma face Cesena tonight and Juventus next week, so their club medic gives updates on Daniele De Rossi and Pablo Daniel Osvaldo.

The Giallorossi have a packed fixture list over the next few days, including the Coppa Italia quarter-final clash with Juve on Tuesday.

“De Rossi’s situation is stable,” Doctor Francesco Colautti told Roma Channel.

“On Thursday he underwent specialists tests, then a dynamic ECG that showed the presence of a problem in the right thigh that Daniele had already suffered from in the past.

“The player has started a specific treatment programme and intensified the physiotherapy. Based on how these treatments work, we’ll evaluate when he can resume full training with the rest of the squad.”

It looks difficult for De Rossi to recover in time to take on Juventus, while striker Osvaldo is out for another six weeks.

“After around two weeks of intensive physiotherapy, Osvaldo has been doing gradual athletic work for the past two days.

“Considering his physique, we are optimistic that the recovery time can be quicker than expected. He is perfectly on track.

“Erik Lamela had a sprain to the ankle already hurt badly in the summer, but has now fully recovered.”
