Mino Raiola’s statements about Matthijs De Ligt’s future have opened up his possible departure from Juventus, with Chelsea and Barcelona both ready to pounce.

The famous agent highlighted before Christmas that the former Ajax defender is ready for a new step in his career, suggesting that he’ll be looking for a move away from Turin next summer. Whilst he has never openly stated his desire to leave and seems happy at the club, things could change in the coming months.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, if De Ligt wants to guarantee his future with Juventus then he’ll need to renew his contract, which currently expires in 2024. No talks have started yet and Raiola’s statements suggest that they won’t be easy.

Should the Dutch defender not renew his deal, the Bianconeri would place him on the transfer market, with Chelsea currently in a strong position in the race. There is also an unconfirmed €75m clause in favour of Barcelona, which could also kick things off.

  1. After selling de ligt, please Juve…don’t do a deal with raiola’s boys anymore
He is a cunning man, not worthy to be paid for

Milan AC have experienced with this in the past and still…

  2. Jive selling de ligt is pure hype it’s in juventus DNA to defend 1st it would be like selling Thurman in past juventus teams de ligt is a top defender who juventus would have to pay what ever he wants .you have players who make the foundation’s of a squad and de lifts one of them nedved was one of those type of players in replacing Zindane so unless jive know something I don’t know selling de ligt is madness.

  3. Raiola doing his usual to stir Juve into opening up negotiations and populating an improved contract for De Ligt.

Hopefully once he inevitably leaves, whether that be this year or the next, Jive cease all dealings with Raiola.

  4. Honestly, for what juve bought de ligt. He’s been a disappointment , his first year was horrendous and he’s been average at best . Juve should sell him on a high and invest that to solidify every area with experience and youth. He’s not worry the salary based on his output.
