President Aurelio De Laurentiis insists Napoli are “alive, kicking and very tough!”
The Partenopei relinquished the Serie A lead on Saturday night, going down 1-0 to Juventus in Turin, but the patron doesn’t fear a mental collapse.
“Napoli must be conscious of our ability to put on a show, it’s not a question of ruthlessness,” De Laurentiis said on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“This team has a ruthless edge, the problem is playing football that’s exciting but decisive. We made a huge step forward at Juventus Stadium.
“It’s true that we didn’t win, but this time we didn’t lose because of our own faults, but because of an incident two minutes before the end.
“The one mistake our defence made, and we conceded kind of an own goal.
“Obviously the results decide the points total, but what’s more important: that we made the invulnerable look vulnerable at Juventus Stadium, or the fact Napoli dropped points?
“We have to be aware of that, not cry about it. That’s our defect, a southern defect. We always cry like there’s been a death – we’re alive, kicking and tough!”
With the Vesuviani in the Scudetto race, is tonight’s Europa League game with Villarreal still important?
“Absolutely! Now is when the Europa League stops becoming a side issue, now is when the real fight starts.
“We’ve already played Villarreal twice in my time and they’re a super team, with a lot of qualities.
“There’s [Denis] Suarez in the middle, who I think is very good for just 22-years-old. They have a team like I do, with a lot of young players.
“They have a President who thinks like me and has helped them become one of the top teams in Spain.”
